Transcultural Studies/Art History (Post-1800)
The Department of Transcultural Studies explores contemporary and historical transcultural processes and dynamics through an transdisciplinary lens. It investigates material, immaterial, and visual cultures within their aesthetic, historical, political, as well as social contexts.
The department comprises the following chairs, each with distinct disciplinary emphases: Global History; Transcultural Art History; and Romance Literary and Cultural Studies. This structure fosters methodological diversity, enabling multifaceted approaches to the analysis of cultural phenomena.
