Study abroad and internships

A special feature of the BA in Transculturality is the mobility slot scheduled in the curriculum for the fifth semester. In this slot, students have to earn a minimum of 5 CP and a maximum of 30 CP through internships or study credits acquired abroad. This is also possible through the combination of internships and study abroad. Depending on the student's study plan, the required credits may also be earned earlier or later than in the fifth semester.

Internships

In general, you are responsible for finding an internship position on your own (preferably in the cultural or media sector) and informing us of your decision in advance. The general conditions are specified in our internship regulations. After completing the internship, please send the certificate from your employer and your internship report by email to tku@hhu.de. We will confirm the credits you have earned by email. This email will then serve as proof when creating your transcript of records. Some internships require confirmation from the university that it is a mandatory internship. In this case, please fill out this form and send it by email to tku@hhu.de for confirmation.

Credits earned abroad

As there are many different exchange programs and other options available, we recommend that you seek advice from the HHU International Office. If you have specific plans to study abroad through the Erasmus cooperation programs offered by the participating departments, please contact the relevant Erasmus coordinators. We can recognize up to 30 CP for courses taken during your stay abroad. To do so, please send the transcript of records from your host university (with an official translation, if necessary) by email to tku@hhu.de after completing your stay abroad. We will send the confirmation of the credits that you have earned abroad by email. This email will then serve as proof when creating your transcript of records.
