Program structure

The degree program consists of three different sections, which are generally studied in modules. These modules each consist of several individual courses. The successful completion of the corresponding final examination (AP) generates the required credit points (CP) for the module.

In the mandatory section, all students of Transcultural Studies take the same modules, which earn a total of 48 CP at the end of the program.

The required electives section consists of two parts: two modules must be chosen from the language section, which amount to 16 to 28 CP, and two modules have to be chosen from the three subject-specific methodology units offered, which in sum amount to 18 to 21 CP.

The elective section offers greater flexibility by combining different modules from the participating disciplines. In this section, the number of CP can range from 45 to 93, depending on the extent of the mobility window (between 5 and 30 CP). To obtain a bachelor's degree, the total number of credits at the end must amount to at least 180 CP and may not exceed 186 CP.
